Summertime

Image result for summertime
Just as Autumn Leaves, I am choosing "Summertime" as a case study to ramp up on Jazz.
It seems this jazz standard is commonly recommended by many instructors online.
There are also many references and forum discussions on this tune, so information is abundant for a case study.

Wikipedia:
"Summertime" is an aria composed in 1934 by George Gershwin for the 1935 opera Porgy and Bess. The lyrics are by DuBose Heyward, the author of the novel Porgy on which the opera was based, although the song is also co-credited to Ira Gershwin by ASCAP

Gershwin was remarkably successful in his intent to have this sound like a folk song. This is reinforced by his extensive use of the pentatonic scale (C–D–E–G–A) in the context of the A minor tonality and a slow-moving harmonic progression that suggests a "blues". Because of these factors, this tune has been a favorite of jazz performers for decades and can be done in a variety of tempos and styles.

Title: Interstate Love Song

Standard Tuning

Decided to learn this song but found all of the tabs up here to be insufficient. Some of
them had parts right here and there but gave no strum patterns or really mapped out the
song right.  I can garauntee the Riffs and the Verse chords are right, yes they are hard
to finger and play but they will get you sounding exactly like Dean Deleo if you practice
playing them.  Hope this helps.

Fingering for the verse: i-index, m-middle, r-ring, p-pinky
e|4-i---------------------|
B|5-m---4-m---2-m---2-m---|
G|4-i---5-r---1-i---1-i---|
D|6-r---6-p---3-p---2-r---|
A|4-i---3-i---2-r---1-i---|
E|------------------------|

These are the fingering I found the easiest to use since these are weird chords.  On the
first chord here I place my pinky behing my ring finger and lift the ring finger up as I
am playing to get ready for the next chord. Pay attention to the fingers that stay on the
same string from chord to chord and use this to help you make fluid changes.  Start very
slow and get use to the fingerings and changing between the chords.

12---14-15          on the E-string.................
12--14-15-16     For the fastest parts use mainly Pull-offs and
